Bali

6 days for two from Delhi or Mumbai | Best in April–June or September (dry season, before peak crowds) | Mid-range honeymoon: ₹1.4–2 lakh for two

Day 1 — Arrive & into the Ubud jungle

  • Fly Delhi or Mumbai to Denpasar (direct flights run about 6.5–7 hours); Indian passport holders get visa-on-arrival at the airport (~₹2,700 per person, cards accepted) or can pre-apply for the e-VOA online to skip the counter queue.
  • Private transfer to Ubud (90 minutes to 2 hours) and check into a mid-range private pool villa — Alena Resort, Aksari Resort, or Wapa di Ume all pair jungle views with a plunge pool for under ₹12,000 a night.
  • Keep the evening easy on Jalan Goutama: dinner at Melting Wok Warung — the coconut-curry noodle bowl and caramel-ginger flan are the orders; it seats barely twenty, so walk in before 7 pm.
  • End with a slow stroll past the lotus pond at Pura Taman Saraswati, softly lit after dark.

Day 2 — Floating breakfast & ridge walks

  • Your first floating breakfast in the villa pool — most Ubud villas serve it on a bamboo tray for ₹1,500–2,000 for two; book it with the villa staff a day ahead.
  • Walk the Campuhan Ridge before 9 am while the elephant grass is still cool, then coffee overlooking the paddies at Karsa Kafe at the far end.
  • Afternoon couples massage at Karsa Spa — a 90-minute Balinese massage for two runs ₹3,500–4,500; reserve the rice-field-view room.
  • Dinner at Hujan Locale: order the bebek betutu (slow-braised Balinese duck) and the young-jackfruit curry — genuinely satisfying vegetarian depth for Indian palates.

Day 3 — Temples, terraces & waterfalls

  • Sunrise at the Tegallalang rice terraces before the tour buses roll in — walk the subak irrigation channels down into the valley while the light is still gold.
  • Join the water-blessing ritual at Tirta Empul temple; sarongs are provided, and you queue with locals through the spring-fed purification pools.
  • Swim below Tibumana waterfall — quieter than Tegenungan, a single curtain of water into a jade pool built for two.
  • Browse the Ubud Art Market for silver and rattan, then a sunset dinner at The Sayan House above the Ayung river valley — arrive 30 minutes before the sun drops.

Day 4 — Ubud to the Uluwatu cliffs

  • After one last floating breakfast, drive south to Uluwatu (about 2 hours) and check into a cliff-country pool villa near Bingin or Padang PadangMule Malu and La Joya Biu-Biu are reliable mid-range picks with private pools.
  • Beach afternoon at Padang Padang, or take the steep steps down to Bingin Beach for its low-tide lagoon and cliff-hugging warungs.
  • Sunset at Uluwatu Temple on the 70-metre cliff edge, then the fire-lit kecak dance in the open amphitheatre (~₹800 per ticket) — book the 6 pm show and sit on the western side for the ocean backdrop.
  • Grilled-seafood dinner on the sand at Jimbaran BayMenega Cafe does snapper with sambal matah, eaten with your toes in the sand, about ₹3,000 for two.

Day 5 — Slow beach day for two

  • Lazy villa-pool morning, then find Suluban (Blue Point) Beach, a cove you enter through a limestone cave — go at low tide.
  • Book a daybed at Sundays Beach Club below the Ungasan cliffs: kayaks, snorkelling, and a beach bonfire as the light fades (entry is redeemable against food and drinks).
  • Golden hour at the Karang Boma cliff viewpoint, then sunset cocktails at Single Fin above the surf break — pick a weekday evening to skip the party crowd.

Day 6 — One last sunrise & home

  • Sunrise walk on the white sand of Melasti Beach, the Bukit's prettiest stretch and near-empty before 8 am.
  • Late-checkout swim and a final villa brunch; pick up Balinese coffee, vanilla pods, and kopi luwak-free single-origin beans as gifts on the way out.
  • The airport is 45–60 minutes from Uluwatu — leave a 3-hour buffer for the evening flight back to Delhi or Mumbai.
